How the Indian fashion industry and film industry is using its voice to fight the second wave of the pandemic?

The impact of second wave of the pandemic has been terrifying. This wave has made majority of us feel helpless, but the fashion fraternity is showing how even little acts of kindness matter. Not only the fashion industry, but also the film industry is using its voice to fight the second wave of the pandemic. Be it the smaller labels donating 100 percent of their sale proceeds towards COVID -19 relief, or larger fashion houses that have curated COVID resource guides, the fashion industry is responding to this medical emergency. Moreover, many of the celebs from the film industry are stepping in ground zero to help the needy in this whole pandemic situation. In this segment, I will be talking about how fashion and film industry raising voice in pandemic!

Anita dongre was one of the first responders using her network and community to pivot her social media platform into a digital COVID helpline-putting out information of where beds, oxygen, plasma, and other medical supplies can be found.

  • Gauri & Nainika

The Delhi based label is run by the sister duo. They have tied up with medical crowdsourcing platform to initiate a fundraiser that will procure oxygen concentrators. All proceeds will go to Indian Humanitarian organization. All the details of how to donate are on their Instagram account.

Like many other designers, Rahul Mishra has stopped all brand and commerce related posts on his social media platform. It all started almost two weeks ago, and from then he has a COVID resource, in his highlights. The designer is using this downtime to think about ways that he can ensure that his company keeps employing people.

Her information rich posts on social media have been amplified by other designers in the industry such as Masaba Gupta. She herself is working as a volunteer with her friend’s foundation.

The reel life villan has proved to be the real life hero. Sonu Sood is one of the most active actors helping out since the outbreak last year. And has been using his platform to assist in every way he can. From arranging beds for the sick to assisting with oxygen cylinders and life saving injections. He hasn’t left a single chance to help the affected people. Sonu sood has been a savior for many in this second wave. Just like he was present on ground zero helping the needy in phase 1.

  • John Abraham

John handed over the reigns of his social media accounts to the organizations helping with Covid 19 relief. He said that “All content posted on my handles will be exclusively to help those affected with the resources they require. It is time to extend ourselves to humanity and take measures to overcome this crisis.”

  • Harshvardhan rane

HarshVardhan rane is trading his bike to help the ones who need oxygen. He is trying to contribute as much as possible. In order to help people amid the oxygen crisis, caused by the second COVID 19 surge in India. The actor is a avid biker and posted a set of pictures of himself and his yellow royal Enfield. In his post, he asked for a few oxygen concentrators which can be provided to people in need.

  • Akshay Kumar and twinkle Khanna

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has been actively using Twitter. So as to share resources and information and donated 10 million rupees to former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir’s foundation. This foundation is helping distribute, free food, medicines, and much needed oxygen to needy.

This whole pandemic situation has made everyone numb out there. Awareness among the fashion and film industry raises some hope to overcome the situation in a better way.
